dark dot in sky moved toward me, was a huge disc, hovered overhead about 40 sec and then zoomed back to source and disappeared
In the summer of 1967 I was 13 years old and walking to my friends house after dinner. I lived in BC then and it occurred on the corner of 13th St and Edinburgh in New Westminster. It was a nice clear night and I noticed a dark dot in the sky that was moving quickly toward me and increasing in size. It took only about 1.5 seconds before it was above me hovering. It was dark grey and disc shaped. It appeared to be at least as big as the house I was walking past at the time and a few houses in height above me. It looked liked horizontal linear lines were etched on it or the surface was irregular. It was either spinning or vibrating as the outside of it looked like motion was happening although it hovered in the same place. I looked around to see if anyone was out on their lawns or at their windows but no one was. It hovered for at least 45 seconds and then it zoomed away in the direction it had originated from. In about a second it was a black dot and then gone. I ran back to my house and told my parents what I saw. The next day I remember my dad telling me that people had phoned into a radio station saying they had seen something too. Did anyone out there happen to see this? It was 50 years ago and I still wonder what the heck I saw.....
