{dr}I was 9 or 10 y/o and outside playing. I must have been looking up and noticed a circular ring of fire, which flashed across the sky. I remember being outside on a clear day playing with friends. I was probably about nine or ten years old. I really don't remember what month it was; however it was warm weather and this occurrence happened during the school year, probably on the weekend since the siting was seen sometime between 11:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. I definitely know that I wasn't facing the sun. I was standing in the front yard looking in a Northern direction at the sky. My view was not obstructed from about 9 to 12 as seen on the face of a clock. From 12 to 3,the view would have been blocked by large leafy trees at that time. The weather was nice with clear skies and no wind. I have no idea why I was watching the sky, but suddenly a ring of fire appeared, moving across the sky at an enormous rate of speed. It was very high, not oversized, yet a very visible reddish orange fire ring. Total time of visibility maybe 1 to 2 seconds. The speed of the object was so fast it moved almost across my view in that amount of time. I believe the object appeared and disappeared as I watched the sky, unlike coming out from the tree foliage and disappearing on the horizon. From my perspective, the actual ring had some width,"hollow" in the middle, and just a little Longated as opposed to a perfect circle. The only person I reported it to was my elementary teacher. Her reply: "Oh,it was probably a weather balloon ". I didn't know anything about weather balloons at age nine; however, I did not believe her. She wasn't interested and quickly dismissed my observation.
