I was sitting on the back deck around dusk and heard a mechanical noise to the NW that I had never heard before. I went inside to get my husband and upon return the noise had stopped. Shortly after the noise, I noticed the speed of the object. Because of the height of the object I thought I might be looking at a satellite until the 90 degree turn. I followed the object across the sky. The object began to flash a bright yellow-orange light and then disappeared. This event was also witnessed by my husband.
The same mechanical noise was heard by my husband on Thursday, July 23 at approximately 23:50. Extreme cloud cover inhibited any view of the sky.
