3 lights observed for 3 to 4 minutes at altitude estimated to be above 100,000 feet On May 11 2005 I was the Captain of a regular freighter Boeing A/C from Sydney Australia to Auckland New Zealand when at approx. 0230 in the morning whilst cruising at 33,000 feet the entire crew observed an extremely bright light to the SE of our flight path which was East. The bright light was at a considerable distance from us and at a higher elevation estimated to be above 100,000 feet when first observed. Whilst observing this bright light 2 other objects joined the main body from each side and positioned themselves underneath the main object and apart. After several minutes they all started to move in unison but maintaining their station up and away at a rapid pace such that they disappeared in approximately 30 seconds with the smaller not so bright objects disappearing first. It was estimated that when the largest and brightest object disappeared that it had to be hundreds of miles away and several hundreds of thousands of feet in elevation on it's SE path. The Crew had a combined experience of in excess of 35,000 hrs so had a pretty good appreciation of elevations and distance.
