A round object of the size of a modern airplane above the buildings in Kaaarst, by Neuss and Dusseldorl in Germany in early 1970s
August 1973 or 1974. I drove over a field, coming from the north, in Kaarst, west of Dusseldorf in West-Germany(West still at that time!) and saw this 'thing' still above the houses in Kaarst. I thought it was an airplane and that my angle made it look like it stood still. I stopped and looked. It was just 'sitting' there and blinking. It blinked with lights randomly. After so many minutes--maybe ten-- I got impatient and thought that if I drove around some houses I would get closer. When I came around a corner the 'thing' was gone. I went to the police in Kaarst and they thought it was very funny. I tried to save my face by saying it was probably a blimp. They agreed. I spoke around 2001 to a professor of physics at Princeton University about this 'thing' and he thought I was very funny.
