Bright Metallic
I was laying out at the beach near our layover hotel. Nice warm day. Partly cloudy skies.
Hotel is near the approach of St. Marrten Intl. Airport. I noticed up in the sky about 3,000ft this very bright aluminum object. I figured it was an aircraft perhaps turning since we were close to the airport. I did see other aircraft in the area. They made turns but did not produce the bright shinny look as this object did. It was stationary in the sky.It was pulsating. I could not believe the brilliant shinny look this thing had.
A small cloud got in the way of me and the object. After the cloud went past, the object was gone.
I am also a licensed pilot since 1975, I do not drink. I have never seen anything like this ever! I was thinking what kind of aircraft would give off such a bright shine and remain stationary? Did not look like any aircraft I have ever seen? It was a a distance but even then, looked to be quite large. It was higher in the air than the other aircraft that were flying in the pattern.
