My husband and I were on holiday on the mainland of Greece and we could see the island of Skiathios across the sea, a distance of 2 miles. We saw 4 or 5 red spheres moving above Skiathos and I at first thought they were fire engines (here in Greece the fire engines have red lights). They moved along steadily with the one in front slightly higher than the others.Then they disappeared and I thought that they had rounded a bend on the hills of Skiathos. They reappeared some 15 or so minutes later, follwing the same path. I lined them up with a small building to my left. It was very dark, but I could see the building. The lights went away again. The next morning, I looked at the building and Skiathos and the lights had definately not been on the island, they were way too high. In other words, in the sky. We asked at the nearby taverna whether they had ever seen any airforce planes in that area and were told no. There was no sound from them that we could hear. This was a very remote area and so there was no one in the locality to verify our sighting. As I said before, they could not have been on the island.
We were not afraid, but quite excited when we realised the next day that they had been in the sky.
